Interactive Institute 2022

CEF Interactive Institute Wheelhouse Robotics

On June 17, 2022 Wheelhouse Robotics held a robotics camp at the Coppell Education Foundation Interactive Institute for about one hundred 7th and 8th graders. Led by FTC #16272 Mark X Robotics and mentee team FTC #21327 Java Nauts, the robotics camp taught learners the fundamentals of designing, building, and competiting with a robot. The stations used to provide a holistic robots development expirence included basic circuitry, building, and driving skills. All of the funds generated by the Coppell Education Foundation STEAM camp will be given to the amazing teachers and great programs offered by CISD.

We are excited to once again offer a five day summer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) camp to all rising 7th and 8th grade CISD students. The Interactive Institute, a half-day camp, is held at the Coppell High School Ninth Grade Campus. The Interactive Institute's hands-on approach to learning seeks to inspire students in STEAM fields of study by exposing them to a variety of exciting, real-world applications. Each day covers an engaging new subject and hands-on project with the curriculum designed and facilitated by our corporate partners. Our corporate partners this year include: Abbott, AstraZeneca, Baylor Scott & White, CISD Child Nutrition, Cochlear, Corgan, Mark X Robotics, National Weather Service, S2 Art Studio, Southwest Airlines, and UT Southwestern. CEF provides the direction and oversight of the Interactive Institute with support from CISD. The projects and teaching principles are intended to compliment CISD's excellent math and science curriculum.
